Following is a brief synopsis of the manga JUJUTSU KAISEN:
Yuuji is brilliant on the field of play! Except that he doesn’t want to take part in extracurricular activities at school. He chooses to live alone after joining the occult research group, but when the new scent is presented at school, everything is flipped upside down.
The manga series Jujutsu Kaisen (), which was initially released in Japan, was written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. Chapter-by-chapter installments have been released since March 2018 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shnen Jump, a publication for young adults that features manga. There will be 21 tankbon volumes worth of its chapters collected and published by December 2022. A high school student named Yuji Itadori serves as the book’s main character. To end the world’s terrible curse known as Ryomen Sukuna, of which Yuji becomes the host, he is enlisted by a shady group of Jujutsu Sorcerers. From April to July 2017, Akutami’s Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School appeared in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA. It was eventually compiled in a tankbon volume, which was later released in December 2018 with the retroactive title Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The series’ continuation is Jujutsu Kaisen. It was made by Akuma.
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has been available in print since December 2019 thanks to Viz Media, which holds the rights to publish the English-language edition of the series in North America. On the Manga Plus website, readers can read the series that Shueisha has made available in English. The release of one of Ballad Kitaguni’s novels occurred in both May 2019 and January 2020. Kitaguni is responsible for both books. The anime television series adaptation, which was produced by MAPPA and had 24 episodes, aired on MBS from October 2020 to March 2021. The first episode of the English dubbed anime will debut in November 2020, and Crunchyroll has given the go-ahead for streaming the anime outside of Asia. Over 70 million copies of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga were in print as of August 2022, making it one of the manga series with the most overall copies sold. Even if Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and its companion novels, digital editions, and other sales are not included in this figure, the manga series is still among the most popular ones ever.
Synopsis
Every living creature emits an energy known as Cursed Energy, according to the principles of Jujutsu Kaisen (, Juryoku). The unpleasant emotions that easily flow through the body are thought to be the source of this energy. It’s challenging, if not impossible, to control the flow in the majority of people’s bodies. As a result, they experience recurring losses of Cursed Energy, which causes the creation of Curses (Japanese: Noroi), a race of spiritual beings whose primary objective is to harm humanity. These catastrophes are portrayed as horrible creatures with malicious motives.
Jujutsu Sorcerers (Jjutsushi, lit. “Cursed Technique Masters” or “Shamans”) are individuals who have the ability to regulate the flow of Cursed Energy within their bodies. They may pick how they want to use Cursed Energy thanks to this, and it also helps them release less of it. High-ranking Sorcerers and Curses can harness this energy and use it to perform Cursed Techniques (Jujutsushiki), which are frequently specific to the individual or their family. By employing the energy itself, these approaches can be carried out. The Cursed Technique has a more complex variant known as Domain Expansion (, Ryuki Tenkai). This method allows users to create a pocket dimension with a customizable size. As soon as they enter the domain, all of their attacks will immediately link with one another and grow stronger.
Plot: Sendai high school student Yuji Itadori, who is extremely physically fit, is the main character. On his deathbed, Itadori’s grandfather offers his grandson two bits of wisdom that will forever alter his life: “always help others” and “die surrounded by others.” Itadori was made the host of a potent Curse known as Ryomen Sukuna when members of the Occult Club unsealed a talisman made of a decaying finger. Curses were attracted to their school because of this action. Itadori had done something that put Megumi Fushiguro and Itadori’s other friends in peril. It is essential for all sorcerers to cast an exorcism spell against Sukuna right away because he is a malicious entity (and, by implication, Itadori). Itadori is brought to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School by Satoru Gojo, Megumi’s teacher, with the request that his superiors postpone the execution and allow him to train under Gojo until he consumes all of Sukuna’s fingers to end the Curse. After noticing that Itadori was able to maintain control over his body, Megumi’s teacher Satoru Gojo invites him to the school. The world of jujutsu sorcery is simultaneously under attack by a gang of cursed spirits, who are preparing a multi-pronged assault. A twisted sorcerer by the name of Suguru Geto, who was executed by Gojo one year ago, and the cursed spirit Mahito are both members of this organization. The Kyoto school’s headmaster insisted Itadori be eliminated right away during the jujutsu tournament between the Tokyo and Kyoto schools. Others, such as Gojo’s classmate Nobara Kugisaki, support him in his attempts to preserve Itadori’s life.
